Microblading is an exciting step toward achieving perfect, hassle-free brows. Proper preparation is essential to ensure the best possible results, a smooth healing process, and long-lasting brows. Here’s everything you need to know to get ready for your appointment.

1. Book Your Consultation & Patch Test

✔ Schedule a consultation to discuss your desired brow shape, color, and overall goals.

✔ A patch test is required at least 24 hours before the procedure to check for any allergic reactions.

✔ Your artist will assess your skin type, natural brows, and lifestyle to recommend the best technique for you.

2. Avoid Certain Skincare & Treatments Before Your Appointment

To ensure the pigment is absorbed evenly, avoid the following:

✔ No Botox or fillers at least 2-4 weeks before your treatment.

✔ No chemical peels, facials, or exfoliating treatments 2 weeks prior.

✔ Stop using retinol, AHA/BHA acids, and Vitamin C serums 1 week before.

✔ Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least a week before your appointment.

3. Mind Your Medications & Supplements

Some substances can cause excessive bleeding, affecting pigment retention. Avoid for at least 48 hours before your appointment:

✔ Aspirin, ibuprofen, and blood-thinning medications (unless prescribed by a doctor).

✔ Fish oil, vitamin E, and other supplements that thin the blood.

✔ Alcohol and caffeine (yes, that includes coffee!) as they can increase sensitivity and bleeding.

4. Grooming & Makeup Guidelines

✔ Do not wax, tweeze, or thread your brows at least 3 days before your appointment—your artist will shape them for you.

✔ Avoid wearing makeup on the brow area on the day of your treatment.

✔ You may bring inspiration photos of the brow style you love to help guide the design process.

5. Plan for Aftercare & Healing Time

Microblading requires a healing period, so plan accordingly:

✔ Your brows will go through different healing stages, including slight scabbing and fading before the color settles.

✔ Avoid sweating, swimming, or excessive moisture on the brows for at least 7-10 days.

✔ I will provide you with an aftercare kit that includes everything you need to properly care for your brows during the healing process.

✔ A touch-up is required after 5-8 weeks to perfect the results.
